Trinamool Congress leader Anubrata Mandal, arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a cattle smuggling case, was on Sunday admitted to a hospital in Asansol after he complained of chest pain. Officials gave information about this.
After treatment, Anubrata Mandal was taken from Asansol Correctional Home to District Hospital where he is lodged. He told the media that in the morning I was having chest pain. After this he was admitted to the hospital. Tested by a team of doctors at the hospital.
A hospital official said a team of doctors, including cardiologists, conducted several tests on him for about an hour before he was allowed to leave the hospital. Anuvrat Mandal is the district president of TMC’s Birbhum. The ED arrested him on 17 November. The CBI is probing the criminal aspect of the case, while the ED is probing the money laundering part.
Anuvrat Mandal is trapped in animal smuggling case
Anuvrat Mandal who is TMC’s Birbhum district president was arrested by the CBI in August for his alleged involvement in cattle smuggling and was also named in the charge sheet filed by the agency in the case. The CBI had also arrested Mandal’s former bodyguard Sehgal Hussain and named him as the main accused in its charge sheet. After this, the ED took Hussain in its custody.
