These days, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif claimed that Imran Khan sold the gold medal he got from India while playing cricket. He got the medal for performing well in the Pakistan team. Imran Khan has been accused of selling gifts from the government treasury, for which the present government and its ministers are constantly attacking him.
This was disclosed by Defense Minister Khawaja Asif during a television program on Monday. Khwaja Asif, however, did not give any details about the gold medal allegedly sold by Imran Khan. In fact, Imran Khan has also been accused of selling an expensive wrist watch received as a gift. The controversy escalated when a businessman claimed that he bought the watch from Imran Khan’s wife’s friend at a very cheap price. This stand was given to Imran Khan by the Saudi Crown Prince.
Coin collector claims he bought the medal for less than Rs 3000
Meanwhile, a coin collector claimed that he bought the medal presented by India to Imran Khan from a private coin dealer in Lahore for less than Rs 3,000. Shakeel Ahmad Khan, a resident of Kasur near Lahore, made the claim while participating in a talk show on a television channel. Shakeel said that I had bought six or seven medals in 2014 for Rs 3,000.
He claimed that this medal was given to Imran Khan by the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai in 1987. He said that I had donated the medal to Pakistan Cricket Board free of cost and PCB accepted the donation and also gave me a certificate.
Imran said – my party does not need to campaign to return to power
PTI chief Imran Khan said on Tuesday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf does not need to campaign to return to power. Through video conferencing from his residence in Lahore, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan said that free and fair elections are necessary to get the country out of the ongoing economic turmoil. This will create stability and confidence among the public. A local newspaper quoted him as saying that the more the government delays the elections, the more beneficial it will be for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and we will not even need to campaign because of the current situation in the country.
