Football’s Mahakumbh is going to be held in Qatar after two days. There the 22nd World Cup will start on Sunday (November 18). India will be represented by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar at its inauguration ceremony. He will be in Qatar on his two-day visit on November 20 and 21.

32 teams will participate in this tournament which lasts for about a month. For the first time the World Cup will be played in the month of November-December. Till now the World Cup was held in June-July. The first match of the tournament will be played at the Al Bayt Stadium with an audience capacity of 60,000. The matches of the tournament will be played on eight grounds. The final match will be held at the Lusail Stadium with a capacity of 80,000 spectators. This will be the first World Cup to be held in the Middle East.

32 teams in eight groups
All the teams are divided into eight groups and after the league matches, the first two placed teams in each group will advance to the top 16 round, followed by quarter-final matches among the eight teams. The semi-final matches will be held on 14 and 15 December. The two semi-final losers will clash for the third place on December 17 and the final of the tournament will be held on December 18.
