The Bharatiya Janata Party has released the list of candidates for the by-elections for one Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh and one assembly seat each in Bihar, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh. The BJP has fielded Raghuraj Singh Shakya against Dimple Yadav from Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh. On the other hand, talking about assembly seats, Ashok Kumar Pincha has been given ticket from Sardarshahar assembly seat in Rajasthan. Apart from this, ticket has been given to Kedar Prasad Gupta from Kurhani in Bihar while Brahmanand Netam has been nominated from Bhanupratappur in Chhattisgarh.
Who is Raghuraj Shakya, the BJP candidate fighting against Dimple Yadav?
Raghuraj Shakya is a resident of Etawah district. Shakya is considered very close to Shivpal Singh Yadav. He has held the post of State Vice President of Praspa. Shakya was elected MP in 1999 and 2004 on a Samajwadi Party ticket. In 2012, he also won the assembly election from Etawah Sadar seat on SP ticket.
