BL Santosh: Will BJP General Secretary BL Santosh be arrested? Know everything about MLA poaching case


Bharatiya Janata Party National General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santhosh has been summoned by the SIT of Telangana Police. Santosh has been called for questioning on 21 November. The sword of arrest is also hanging on BL Santosh. Telangana Police is continuously conducting raids in this matter. So far three people have been arrested from seven locations in four states.

Know about BL Santosh first

Born on February 1, 1967 in Mysore, Karnataka, BL Santosh is the National General Secretary (Organization) of the Bharatiya Janata Party. BL Santosh has vast experience of strengthening the organization. Santosh has studied engineering. From 1993 he started working as a full time RSS pracharak. He joined the BJP in 2006 and was made the General Secretary (Organisation) of the Karnataka BJP. Till 2014, he held the responsibility of this post. Meanwhile, the BJP government was also formed in Karnataka in 2008. In 2014, when Narendra Modi became Prime Minister and Amit Shah became BJP President, BL Santosh was given the responsibility of Joint National General Secretary (Organisation). In 2019, Santosh got full responsibility of National General Secretary (Organization).

In which case is BL Santosh stuck?

P Rohit Reddy, one of the MLAs of the ruling TRS in Telangana, has filed a case of horse-trading against BJP leaders. Based on Reddy’s complaint, cases were registered against Ramachandra Bharti alias Satish Sharma, Nand Kumar and Simhaji Swamy on the night of October 26 for criminal conspiracy, offer of bribe and under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. According to the case registered by Rohit Reddy, the accused offered him Rs 100 crore. In return, he put a condition that he would have to leave TRS and join BJP.

Apart from this, four TRS MLAs Pilot Rohit Reddy, B Harshvardhan Reddy, Rega Kantha Rao and Guvwala Balraju also lodged complaints of receiving threat calls from unknown persons. On phone he was asked to leave TRS and join BJP. Allegedly, the inducement of money was also given. Cases under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code were registered at Raidurgam, Banjara Hills, Ghatkesar and Gachibowli police stations following a complaint by the MLAs.

The Telangana government has constituted an SIT to probe the matter. The SIT had already arrested the named accused, now other BJP leaders are also being tightened. SIT has sent summons to BL Santosh for questioning in this case.
